Project Coordinator

Reporting to the Project Manager the role of the Project Coordinator is multi-faceted. It calls for someone that is highly organized, proactive, customer focused, a strong communicator and someone that enjoys helping a field team run smoothly.

Job Description:
• Assist site managers and project manager in tracking analysis and forecasting of the project.
• Undertake pre-subcontractor qualifications.
• Assist in tracking, monitoring, and analyzing productivity data where applicable.
• Perform labour tracking duties to support project management and payroll.
• Assist in scheduling, site coordination and commissioning efforts.
• Coordinate as-built drawing requests from field staff, project manager with office and outside resources.
• Process shop drawings and reviewing documentation.
• Assist in vendor shop drawings, process requests for information (RFI), deliveries and tracking.
• Answer site-specific questions for the project.
• Assist in ESA applications and inspections
• Assist in reviewing quotes and issuing purchase orders with PM approval.
• Assist PM to ensure all safety requirements are met.
• Perform other duties as required.

Experience:
• 2 to 3+ years’ experience as a Project Coordinator in a commercial/industrial electrical contractor setting.
• Technical understanding and experience working with the Canadian Electrical Code Part I, II and III is required.

Skills:
• Experience with Jonas Accounting Software preferred.
• Experience with Accubid, Autocad & PDF Editor.
• Excellent project coordination, organizational and planning skills.
• Creative, participative and flexible approach to managing work assignments.
• Strong ability to work effectively and independently with minimal supervision.
• High degree of self-motivation, resilience, adaptability and flexibility.
• Developed computer skills (word processing, presentation software, project planning software, spreadsheet etc) are required.
• Highly developed oral, facilitation and communication skills.

Travel:
• Some occasional limited travel (usually within GTA) will be required.
• Must have valid and current ‘G’ class Ontario’s drivers’ license as well as access to a personal vehicle.
