Manager, Electrical Services

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager, Electrical Services is responsible for implementing and enforcing standard operating procedures while establishing best practices to deliver best-in-class electrical and data communication services across the commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential sectors.
With a focus on operational efficiency and business growth, the Manager will lead by example—coaching, mentoring, and supporting their team while upholding company standards
This role includes planning, coordinating, and documenting electrical installations, from the initial service call or award of a small project through to its successful completion, including the assignment of appropriate personnel.
The Manager ensures that all on-site activities are executed safely, efficiently, and within the designated schedule, while also monitoring costs, budget, and project scope.
Quality and safety must never be compromised—every service call and small project must meet the highest standards to ensure both technical excellence and a positive customer experience.
Upon completion of the service or project, the Manager will work with the accounting department to promptly prepare and send the invoice to the customer for payment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement best practices and standard operating procedures for the service division

• Maintain and grow relationships with existing service clients by providing ongoing electrical and data communication services and conducting regular sales calls

• Identify and pursue new service opportunities to generate additional revenue

• Dispatch electricians for incoming service calls, including emergency situations, and maintain an up-to-date work schedule

• Coordinate schedules, materials, equipment, and labour in response to service calls

• Act as point of contact for after hours and emergency calls

• Collaborate with the purchasing department to procure materials needed for service work

• Work with the estimating team to prepare quotes for service clients as required

• Approve and help prepare invoices and work orders for completed service calls and small project

• Analyze completed jobs for profitability and adherence to scope, budget, and code compliance

• Assign tasks, provide instruction, monitor progress, and inspect the quality of work performed by electricians and team members

• Participate in the training, coaching, and development of team members and electricians

• Manage the application process for electrical permits and coordinate required inspections

• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, electricians, and subcontractors

• Participate in company training programs and pursue opportunities for continuous professional development

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5–10 years’ experience in a supervisory, leadership and/or management capacity within electrical services, preferably with an electrical contractor
• Experience in electrical service, maintenance, installations, and/or construction
• Experience providing estimations for electrical services, installations, and maintenance
• Fluency in Accubid (or similar estimating software) is an asset
• Experience in sales, business development, and/or customer service is an asset
• Electrical trade certification (C of Q) is an asset
