Senior Electrical Estimator
Location: Mississauga / Greater Toronto Area
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop project estimates and budgets.
• Review documents, specifications, proposals, and addendums in preparation of estimates.
• Participate in Request for Proposal/Pricing (“RFP”) responses and client pursuits.
• Provide Project Managers with estimating and pricing support for Change Orders on major construction projects.
• Communicate with engineers, owners, vendors and other contractors to support Company estimating activities.
• Develop and manage relationships with estimating teams of major construction General Contractors to identify upcoming opportunities.
• Manage deadlines and multi-task as needed to complete required estimating activities.
• Lead internal closing meetings to confirm pricing, markup, and bidding approach on pursuits.
• Lead or support post-tender bidding qualification meetings with client as needed.
• Work in an individual and team setting to accomplish client and business goals.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Be able to work accurately and effectively under pressure with hard deadline dates; at times with several priorities closing within close time proximity to each other.
• Must have very good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have strong attention to detail with practical and logical thinking.
• Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Adobe PDF, etc.).
• Experience with Jonas, Accubid Pro/Change Order, Bluebeam would an asset.
• Should have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
• Bachelor’s Degree, Technical Diploma or equivalent field experience, designation as a P.Eng. or C.E.T. would be considered an asset.
• Construction experience and specifically experience in Electrical, would be an asset.
Electrical Services Administrator
Location: On-Site / Mississauga
Job Type: Full-Time (20-Months)
Vacancy: Coverage for Maternity Leave
Compensation: $50,000-60,000 Annually (prorated for partial years of service)
Birnie Electric is an established electrical contractor operating in the Greater Toronto Area for more than 50 years.
We are seeking an organized, proactive, and customer focused Administrator for our Electrical Services division.
Position Overview:
This existing role provides administrative support to our HomeSafe (Residential), Data Comm, and Service teams. The Electrical Services Administrator also serves as the primary point of contact for customers and inquiries directed to the Electrical Services division.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Act as the main point of contact for customers, electricians, and internal staff, maintaining a positive, customer-focused attitude.
Schedule and deploy electricians under the direction of the Electrical Services Manager.
Use Jonas software to generate and issue invoices for HomeSafe, Qmerit, and Electrical Service customers.
Support the Electrical Services Manager in collecting outstanding invoices by following up with clients for payment approval, addressing issues that delay payment, and tracking quotes and payment status as needed.
Coordinate with local hydro utilities to obtain Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) permits, schedule inspections, and arrange hydro shutdowns, keeping electricians, clients, and the Electrical Services Manager informed of progress.
Ensure field staff collect ERA fees and other receivables upon completion of residential service work.
Maintain organized filing systems for all Electrical Services projects, including ESA permits, closeout documents, and other required records.
Submit all required documentation to support proper project setup, execution, and closeout.
Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
